Design around the complete workload.
A broker platform sits within a network of services. Price feeds provide market data, access points provide client connectivity, and operational procedures keep the environment manageable. These parts need to be planned together, even when they are delivered as separate services.
Platform resources
Define processor, memory and storage requirements using actual usage or an agreed workload estimate.
Data connections
Document feed requirements, instruments, symbol mappings and integration dependencies.
Access topology
Map client regions to the intended platform and access-server connection paths.
Operating responsibilities
Agree access, monitoring, maintenance, backup and recovery responsibilities before launch.
Make recovery a practical plan.
A backup is useful only when its scope and restoration process are understood. Discuss the files and databases included, retention, how restoration is requested and how the environment is validated afterwards. Recovery requirements should be based on business needs and confirmed in the project scope.
Plan a migration with dependencies in view.
Before a move, identify current platform components, databases, plugins, feeds and connected applications. Agree testing, timing and rollback requirements. The move should be validated against the same configuration brief used to plan it.
